0x80070218 error performing 'contains' full text search

When performing a CONTAINS statement using full text search in Microsoft SQL Server you get the error message:

"SQL Server encountered error 0x80070218 while communicating with full-text filter daemon host (FDHost) process."

  1. Start / All Programs / SQL Server 2008 / Configuration Tools / SQL Server Configuration Manager.
  2. Right click the "SQL Full-text Filter Deamon Launcher" and choose Properties.
  3. For "Log on as:" choose Network Service.
  4. Restart the service using the buttons lower in this dialog.
  5. Perform the query again.

Mine is already selected as Network Service. I restarted but still get the same error.

I think it might have to be Network Service because that's what the SQL Server service is running under.
